A man was arrested after the discovery of a woman’s body in Cork.

The suspect has been taken into custody this morning for questioning about the death of the woman (Bruna Fonseca) whose body was found in an apartment in Cork.

Details of the Incident

Bruna's body was discovered at a property on Liberty Street in Cork city around 6.30am.

A woman in her 20s was pronounced dead at the scene after emergency services were alerted to a medical incident and found her body in an unresponsive condition.





Gardaí has blocked the area off to allow for a full search.

The body of the woman was taken from the scene early this afternoon and swiftly brought to Cork University Hospital. There, it will be examined by Dr. Margot Bolster, a pathologist for the State's Pathologist's office.

The autopsy will help us determine the course of our investigation into the death.
