Cork 2-30 Kerry 2-17

Cork got off to a winning start in their Co-Op Superstores Munster Hurling League opener as they defeated Kerry 2-30 to 2-17.

They started strong under a new manager who succeeded Kieran Kingston last July, leading by 1-16 to 0-07 at the interval. Declan Dalton scored the goal in 22 minutes

Shane Barrett scored for the Rebels in their second half-time play, giving them a healthy lead of 15 points

Kerry played well in the final stages, but they couldn't produce a result on the scale of their opening win. Cork had a lot of possession and kept Kerry away from getting back into the game.

Up next for Cork in Group B is a clash against Limerick on Sunday, 15th January, while Kerry will face the All-Ireland champions two days later in Rathkeale

Group A will resume on Sunday, January 8th against Clare for Tipperary.
