Dublin Airport Saw 2.83 Million Travelers In April

According to DAA, April was another record-breaking month for travellers at Dublin Airport, with 2.83 million passing through in total.

The number of people using Dublin Airport increased by +18% from 2.39 million in April 2022 and by +0.7% from the 2.81 million that used the airport in April 2019, the previous busiest month.

Dublin Airport alone saw slightly about 9.5 million passengers in the first four months of 2023.

Recycling Progress

DAA also reported making considerable progress in its attempts to make its airports more sustainable. During the first quarter of 2023, a trial of new trash segregation techniques in a few security lanes led to a tripling of the amount of recycling. The testing was so successful that all security screening lanes in Terminals 1 and 2 are now subject to the new procedures.

Passenger Advice For Summer

It is recommended that travellers departing from Dublin Airport arrive at their terminal two hours before a short-haul flight and three hours before a long-haul journey.

Anyone planning on travelling this summer should know about the deteriorating situation with French Air Traffic Control and the possibility of ongoing strike action. This could cause delays that affect travellers leaving Irish airports for French destinations as well as those flying across French airspace.
