Gardaí are investigating the collision that left a woman in critical condition in the hospital yesterday.

A woman (50s), was hurt in a motorcycle-versus-car accident on Saturday afternoon in Lisheenaleen on the R600.

Emergency services were alerted of the incident. Several members of West Cork Rapid Response, Cork County Fire Service, and the National Ambulance Service, including the air ambulance, arrived on the scene shortly after 1.30 pm.





The woman was airlifted to Cork University Hospital for treatment of serious injuries. No other injuries were reported.

The road was briefly closed for forensic investigation but was later reopened to the public.

In Gardaí statement: "Emergency services attended the scene of a traffic collision between a motorcycle and a car that occurred on the R600 in Lisheenaleen, Co. Cork at approximately 1:20 pm on Saturday 6 th May 2023.

"The motorcyclist, a female in her 50s, was removed to Cork University Hospital for treatment of serious injuries. There were no other injuries reported.

"Investigations are ongoing."
