This afternoon, a major fire started at an apartment building in the northwest of Dublin.

The fire spread to a number of apartments on the top floor, of a Blanchardstown building next to the Crowne Plaza Hotel.

Firefighters are tackling the incident as flames and smoke erupt from the top stories as seven units of the Dublin Fire Brigade arrived on the scene.





The fire started this afternoon. Although there have not been any injuries recorded, it is believed that occupants have been evacuated.

Since then, it has been extinguished.

"Dublin Fire Brigade are currently responding to a fire in a high-rise building off the Blanchardstown Road South," a spokesperson for Dublin Fire said.

An extensive fire is blazing in a Blanchardstown residential building in Dublin.

"The fire was reported just before 16:30, and seven units, including two turntable ladders, are on the site. The incident's operations are still ongoing. No reported injuries.

"Garda in Blanchardstown are currently at the scene assisting Dublin Fire Brigade at an apartment building fire at Falcon View, Blanchardstown this afternoon, Sunday, May 28, 2023," a Garda spokesperson said.





At this time, there are no other details available.

The structure is situated close to Blanchardstown Shopping Centre, next to the Crowne Plaza Hotel.
