Garda arrested nine persons under suspicion of thefts from gas stations in Dublin

A Day of Action in Dublin's M District (Tallaght and Rathfarnham) it resulted in the arrest and charging of nine persons.

The investigation, which was started to look into and find thefts from nearby gas stations, resulted in the arrest of seven males and two women.

The operation included patrolling 20 service stations.





Several homes were raided by gardai in uniform and in plainclothes as local stakeholders worked together on the operation. Homes were associated with individuals who were known to commit drive-offs from service stations frequently without paying for fuel.

Seven of the nine detained people were released on bail and ordered to appear in Tallaght District Court on May 23.

The courts have already seen two individuals.

Investigations are ongoing.
