Garda has arrested a man after a taxi driver was allegedly beaten and unjustly detained in Dublin's city centre.

The incident happened today morning at around 2AM in the morning on Fitzgibbon Street in Dublin 1.

According to a Garda spokeswoman, a man in his 30s is believed to have "held and against his will and assaulted" a man in his 50s after the latter entered the taxi that had been travelling from West Dublin into the city centre.
