Prison officer stabbed by a prisoner in Mountjoy Dublin

According to reports, a prison guard in Dublin is receiving medical attention after being stabbed in the face during an attempted escape by an inmate.

While visiting a VHI Swiftcare clinic in Dublin, the murderer Graham McEvoy is charged with stabbing a prison guard with a shiv inside a prison van.

According to the Irish Prison Service, "an incident that occurred on an escort from Mountjoy Prison this morning" has been reported.





It continued, saying it could not comment further and adding that the incident had been reported to the gardai.

It is believed that the officer recaptured the prisoner along with some of his coworkers and brought them back to Mountjoy.

The injured cop is receiving medical attention.
