Road reopened after a horrific accident in Headford this morning

The road near Headford from where 2 teens were killed in a car accident this morning has re-opened and two of the four teenagers involved are receiving treatment at University Hospital Galway.

A single-car accident happened on L6127 at Glennagarraun in the Ballyfruit area of Headford. One boy was pronounced dead at the scene and three remaining teenagers were taken to University Hospital Galway.

A teenage girl passed away shortly after.





Other teenagers who were present at the time of the accident are still receiving treatment.

Post-mortem examinations will be carried out on the two victims.

Meanwhile, the road where the crash occurred has reopened following a detailed technical examination at the scene of the crash.

Garda are urging anyone to come forward with any information, anyone who has dashcam footage.
