Teenager killed on Easter Sunday in a bike accident in Co. Laois

A teenager was killed in a quad bike accident near a wooded area close to the village of Emo, Co Laois on Easter Sunday, Gardaí are investigating the scene for further information.

David Brown was a 15-year-old teenager from Portlaoise, Co Laois.

Gardaí and emergency services rushed to the scene shortly after 2 pm but the teenager was found with fatal injuries.





The Gardaí confirmed that a teenage boy died and they are carrying out a full investigation into what led to such fatal injuries.

David, a third-year student in Portlaoise CBS, had represented Laois in the Celtic Challenge hurling competition on Saturday against Kildare last week. He was also representing Portlaoise GAA.

David has left behind his parents James(Laois Fire Services and Local Painting Contractor) and Carmel, brother Conor(member of the Laois senior football panel) and sister Sarah.

The school paid tribute to David on their app and offered their condolences to his family. They will miss him dearly, but they send their sincerest condolences to his family for the tragic loss of this young student.
