This afternoon, on January 28, the Cork City Fire Brigade was alerted to two fires, one in the north and one in the south of the city. Thankfully, no one was harmed during either incident.

This afternoon at 2.45 pm, Mahon experienced a fire on the southside that continued until 3.25 pm.

Three Fire Brigade units - two from town and one from Carrigaline - rushed to the Mahon house in response to an emergency.

At the same time that the Onslow Gardens fire broke out on the northside, a Third Officer of the Fire Brigade and two appliance vehicles, one from headquarters and another from the north side, arrived to contain it.

It only took 45 minutes to put out that fire.

Right now, the source of each fire is still unidentified.
