Thunderstorms and hail forecast for the miserable Christmas Eve

Thunderstorms and hail forecast for the miserable Christmas Eve

It's Christmas Eve and Met Eireann has some rather unfortunate news for us. There is a big chance that there will be lots of rain and cold weather.

The national forecaster has given us cold, but optimistic, news for the coming days. Temperatures are set to plummet to freezing levels, which is all cool as it won't last for very long. Even though it's good news that we'll be getting warmer conditions soon, a storm will be heading our way soon.

The weather will be sunny in the morning but showers will push in from the west during the afternoon. Some of the showers will be heavy and the Met Eireann has warned of thunderstorms or small hail. Temperatures will be between 9 to 11 degrees.

Christmas Day will be mostly cloudy with showers or longer spells of rain, but there will be a few bright or sunny spells. The maximum temperatures will range from 8 to 11 degrees Celsius.
